Peter van Leeuwen
Peter van Leeuwen saw the need for professional ship management services in the Western Hemisphere and established in 1978 a Shipmanagement & Consulting Company in Curacao, N.A. The company expanded to New York in 1986 and moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1989 where it currently operates as MMS Americas LLC.
He holds a Dutch Master Mariner License – Ocean-going and sailed from 1960 until 1971 in various positions as a Deck Officer with Royal Interocean Lines, a Dutch shipping company operating mainly in the Far East, Africa and South America. Prior the establishment of MMS, he served for 4 years as Deputy Head of the Netherlands Antilles Shipping Inspectorate (DoT) in Curacao. He has more than 30 years of management experience in various aspects of the shipping industry, including involvement in ship finance.
Peter van Leeuwen is the recipient of a MBA degree with an endorsement in International Business.
Peter van Leeuwen currently serves as President of MMS Americas LLC. and is also a major shareholder in the company.
Ismael Donadio Botello
Ismael Donadio Botello joined MMS in 2008 as Operation Superintendent and was promoted in 2011 to Operation Manager.
He attended the Panama Nautical School now known as Universidad Maritima Internacional de Panama and earned a Bachelor of Science in Navigation with Specialization in Marine Transportation in 1996. He holds his Master’s License – Ocean-going and sailed from 1996 until 2008 in various positions as Deck Officer on different type of vessels i.e. Bulk Carriers, Car Carriers, General Cargo and Passenger Vessels, etc.
He is an ISM / ISPS Lead Auditor & MLC 2006 Certified Inspector and Consultant with experience in Class & Statutory Inspections, Hull & Machinery Damages and Risk Assessments
In 2011 he graduated from Lloyds Maritime Academy in London with a Diploma in Ship Management with Merit.
In 2012 Ismael Donadio was appointed Managing Director of MMS Americas LLC and serves in that position since.
